That was the first reading session with this book that I really enjoyed and it definitely helped that there were less (distracting) footnotes so that I could actually focus on the plot. Also a school for young murderers is quite a cool setting (no surprise though^^).

I'm glad I didn't give up during the first 100-150 pages because without the annoying footnotes on every page it was much easier to focus on the story which didn't blow my mind but I think it was a good start to the trilogy in the end

Is it good worldbuilding when the world needs to be explained through (lengthy) footnotes on almost every page? I'd like to doubt that (for now).
