Sun 072025 - 36 ORD - I made some time to catch up on reading this since I fell out of my daily habit around 6/20 when life got ultra busy w/entertaining here in Decatur & my big trip to PA w/Ver & our girls to see Grammy. This has been a lighter uplifting read for a bit over the Empire of AI that is SO heavy. Will be turning to this book more for meditation & daily inspiration in the coming days...up to June 30 now.

Thurs 050125 - 36 ORD Dining Table - Ethan’s 23rd Birthday!! - Savoring the day & the freedom I still have on sabbatical. Reading this daily is a key part of my morning rituals to center, reflect, & give my best. I am becoming a calmer better healthier version of my self every day. I am doing what I can to influence & support making the world a happier place in spite of the turmoil our country is in under tyranny.

Weds 040225 - VH1 Spring Lake - April showers bring May flowers. Spring is at least a few weeks behind up here. It is cold & wet here. We had a lovely lingering breakfast visit with Ethan at a favorite Grand Haven restaurant Morningstar. Thankful for the freedom to be & stay an extra day while we can still do so. Loved catching up with Ethan on many topics, especially his thoughts about colleges & fields of study.

Fri 2/28/25 - 36 ORD - I’ve enjoyed reading this book every day this month & it has become a regular part of my daily self care routine. I admire Mary Davis so much in her connection with the divine & heartfelt ability to be so genuine in articulating this. It has been such a wonderful 55th birthday month, fully enjoyed & savored as another milestone in my sabbatical journey. The best is yet to come. Always.

Sat 2/1/25 36 ORD - Continuing to read this daily as part of my self care routine on sabbatical. Virtually every day it seems what she’s written is “spot on” & resonates in the moment or the time frame. She has so much presence & awareness in her divine wisdom. This book has been so helpful for me in cultivating my inner peace that I’ve been gifting it to my loved ones over time to share the lovely messages.

I received this book in December 2019 as a surprise gift from the colleague (whose sister is Mary Davis) of a friend who heard my Dad passed away unexpectedly. I’ve read parts of it over the years but never the whole way through. I’ve been reading it almost daily the last 6 months on sabbatical. I plan to read it through in 2025 as part of my daily holistic wellness routine. Lots of wisdom & nourishing thoughts.

I’ve also started reading this again as part of my nourishing daily practices during my sabbatical. The daily reflections and practices are perfectly supportive and timely. This was also a gift book I received as an unexpected gift from a colleague of my longtime career mentor a few weeks after my Dad died in late 2019.
