I'm getting precious little insight into Freud. Feaver quotes Freud in huge chunks, with little or no comment, taking that he says at face value. These quotes often have Freud mostly carping on about how everyone else is so awful. There's much name dropping of people I can't keep track of and that have sometimes only a peripheral connection with Freud.
It suffers in comparison to the Stevens & Swann biography of Francis Bacon: Revelations
No context or argument for the quotes? Missed opportunity.
