The best thing about our relationship that wasn’t a relationship was the platonic part. Pure and unaltered friendship, no matter what. The kind where you can run full speed at them with all the things that make you ugly and unlikeable, and they snatch you up and hold you like you’re a piece of treasured gold, something worth keeping.
