Part II of the book is very vividly bleak. The descriptions of Miller's descent into becoming merely a mechanical killing machine and the way the buffalo no longer resembles anything is very disturbing. The manic killings of Miller has gotten them trapped in a snowstorm in which Charley Hoge has decided he's going to be useless for the entirety of the winter. it's perturbing to imagine. And Schneider, R.I.P. Wow.

Thoughtful language particularly vivid in describing the bloodlust, desensitization, disagreements the men are facing. They are all losing themself in these hunts, and their irrationality starts to reflect that.
