Too much superfluous use of language (obscure, somewhat) used instead of simple sentences! Need a dictionary for this one often, but the story is compelling. I'm making a point to read at least a chapter a day, lets see how this goes. Not giving up though.

too long, what was I thinking, but I won't give up on it. I'm a sucker for British lit anyway (its got colonial Indian references, which I adore) and its not boring though which is a surprise! I guess I'll read it as a pallet changer between other books(it was supposed to be read as a monthly anyway).
