My earlier conjecture about the passage of time was wrong! Not even a year has passed since the duel that took place at the opening of the story 😵

That intense state of mind where he'd blazed with the desire to destroy everything, to perish together with Sang Jingxing, seemed to haunt him, ever present.” I guess YW succeeded in creating something akin to hate inside Shen Qiao

I’m reading this series in a matter of days, but I guess that maybe a couple (or more???) of years have passed from the beginning to halfway thru book 2? The only indication I have is that some of the children/teens Shen Qiao has encountered in his journeys are now young adults/titled men

Shen Qiao, mere mortal. This is so sad. How can he ever forgive Yan Wushi? Beyond forgiving, how can he come to love Yan Wushi? >.<

If even the trees diminished, could people be any different?

Ah, I seem to have reached the (accidentally saw on Reels and spoiled myself) plot point of “Yan Wushi bartering [redacted] for a sword, which is never brought up again in the remainder of the story” 😔 alas,,,
