Notes:
(1) I must admit, the last three issues have been pretty good! It's giving me hope for the rest of Humphries' run.
- Issue #10 is especially well done. There's exciting action, smart dialogue, and it's no longer harping on about things that don't matter.
(2) I know nothing about Volthoom, but I feel like I should.
- One of the perils of not being caught up with lore.

Notes:
(1) So, this started to really spin its wheels toward the end.
- The last three issues sort of defaulted back to my big pet peeve with the first book, which is the constant inner monologuing.
- My guess is that this had to be stretched to fit a six-issue arc.
- Having said that, it did manage to stick the landing with an intriguing twist that's full of possibilities.

Notes:
(1) I guess Simon and Jessica introducing themselves at the start of every issue is going to be a thing.
- Or at least as long as Sam Humphries is writing this.
(2) The heroes spend the first issue baking cookies and the second issue trick-or-treating. Not exactly the space cop superhero action I was expecting.
- Simon also frets over a visit from his judgmental mom.

Notes:
(1) So, I was pretty excited to read this series since it seemed like a pretty cool concept and I especially like the idea of Jessica Cruz as a Green Lantern. Though, having now read the first volume, that excitement has flipped upside down into a kind of queasy resignation.
- In other words, so long as Humphries is the writer, reading the series will take an effort.
