not gonna do a chapter by chapter update BUT chapter 4, which focuses on the fetishization and racism of people of colour on dating apps is SO important for more people to read. discusses family notions of racism, really gross experiences and i also enjoy how it’s anecdotal from interviews. i hate that i have also experienced this shit.

chapter three’s a bit much ngl! it gets really sociological about the connection between dismantling white supremacy and racial “preferences” in dating in ways that are a bit difficult for me to digest. but i do enjoy the inclusion of many interviews (even if i shudder at some quotes) and section on intergenerational ideas and “racially curated sexual marketplaces”. (curious how this relates to sex work)
