Interesting stories of place names- I’d like to know those for my area

On the essays- loss over time. It’d be nice if beauty and enjoyment could be argument enough

Melancholy in the passing of summer. But daily hope to bear witness to it.

August- beauty in the now, the present. You can’t come back to it. Change is next.

July- when you notice the little things you mourn their absence. But it’s not an argument to be oblivious.

June: of course he’s an angler. There’s virtue (and peril) in risk and eagerness, but “how utterly dull would be a wholly prudent man.”

April- don’t know draba, bur oak, or woodcock. Don’t like floods. But can appreciate living by vs living on the land. Being mindful, noticing sidewalk ballet

March, spring- marked by geese losing they minds

February: farm, fell a tree, split wood, be warm
