Suketu Mehta's chronicle of his years spent in Bombay. It's a dense work that has taken me the better part of the Spring to digest. Metha documents the housing and space crisis in one of the largest cities on the planet, Hindu and Muslim gangs, Bollywood film industry, sex workers and in general, how people hustle to stay paid. It's my kind of story; love it.
