I was wrong! Duchess knew of plot against magic users (and herself?) but is not in on it.

Also, climbing through the sewage line was ingenious by the author.

Inquisitor’s name is Oberon. Also, about to please case to the Duchess. I am extremely intrigued to see if my prediction about her being nefarious is correct!

I think the inquisitor being the one to kill wizards is a red herring. I think a different power is a work. Ooooo! Maybe the duchess? She did make that comment during the trial about magic vs non-magic users!

The mystery of the brother and sister who broke in and then this stranger who can detect magic adding another level of intrigue to this stellar fantasy novel.

The trial was interesting. Especially seeing the inquisitor being embarrassed. Also, I liked at the line about when you think about needing to go to the bathroom you all of a sudden have the need to go. I am very into this book. Also, I am switching back and forth between ebook and audio book. The audio book narrator is British-sounding, which more adds an extra layer to the fantasy setting.

Really good so far! Good character development and a captivating twist on the traditional fantasy troupe. I am intrigued to see where the author takes it.
