mark monday added a status update
I've taken 2 weeks off from this book with no strong inclination to return to it... this is possibly a bad sign.

mark monday Galilee, a supernatural family saga by Clive Barker. lots of great stuff but also a lot of uninspiringly flat dialogue. about a third in.

mark monday maaaaaybe. I dunno. there's a lot about this eerie mansion where the narrator is apparently writing the novel I'm reading and I am just a sucker for well-described eerie mansions. especially ones in the Louisiana swamps with imported hyenas roaming the grounds and porcupines occupying an upper floor. I keep thinking about that mansion. but then I also keep thinking about the laughable dialogue and I cringe.
