Abbé Faria a great scholar wrongly imprisoned and cast into isolation during an age of political turmoil, left an indelible mark on my soul. Though he was an old man, confined for a span of years long enough to unmake anyone’s sanity, remained unwavering in his devotion to knowledge and freedom. I hold a deep respect and admiration for this character, who appeared only briefly on the page, yet will remain with me ♾️.
