I normally love Mcbrides writing and I do like his writing in this book. He is creating a descriptive tapestry of people with different backgrounds and lives all connected by this neighborhood. BUT I don’t care about any of the people! There’s no plot to keep me going. He introduces so many people and then moves on right as I start to like them! So I need to pause for now, I’m just not in the headspace to push.
