So far in this book we see that Texas is still recovering after his fight with Mason. He goes to the fair with Jamie and Johnny and his cousin comes to tell them important news. We are learning more and more about Tex's life and we start to see Jamie develop feelings for Texas.

I just started reading this book and so far we've learned about Texas and his brother Mason and their horses, Negrito and Red. We also learn about The Collins and how they relate to the story, as well as the house they live in that's small and how their mom is dead and dad went missing. and how Tex doesn't like school. Mason and Tex get into a fight over Mason selling the horses for extra money.
