Wowie this is an unreasonably long book. So far - I agree generally with everything this guy has to say, but for some reason I dislike the way he says it.

1) the writing often wanders from one thought to another (probably why this thing is so darn long)

2) the author puts a historical practices on a weird pedestal

3) the author randomly defaults to she or he, instead of they, when referencing hypothetical people
