I never understood what people meant when they said the bible was contradictory, but i get it now. deut 5:17 literally says do not murder. what gives?

"He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt." Deut 10:18-19

"...listen to the statutes and the rules that I am teaching you, and do them, that you may live..."
