At least a couple of page devoted to Killashandra and her handler arguing with the ship's doctor about Killashandra's meals? Eh? I can relate more to Killashandra more now than when I read this in my teens, but...despite the original premise and the accessible approach to SF that McCaffrey takes, the story is losing a lot of steam. ZZzzzz.

Really original premise. Probably not grounded in the hardest of science, but that's no doubt its appeal.

I know I read this eons ago, but it didn't leave any lasting impression. Probably because it doesn't have any dragons. This time around, its playing better with my older, though not wiser, self.

Despite the story's age, the SF and tech doesn't feel dated.
