Disappointing. Dozens of characters have been introduced, all speaking with the same voice, so they're pretty much indistinguishable. We never got to know the victim, so it's hard to care about her death. It also has the feel of a novella that the author is trying to stretch to novel length. The characters spend a lot of time rehashing what's already happened and worrying about what might happen next.
