@katie I feel I will like it better now that I’m older! I used to be a Cress fan all the way but the more I think about it the more 😬 I am (which I recall being a big part of why you didn’t love these books?)
@Faith yes, it was!! I felt like the relationship between Cress and Thorne was basically "Flynn and Rapunzel, but make it worse," like because Cress felt even more naive and Thorne felt more...idk, exploitative? Also because it's not a Disney movie, they tried to add more MISUNDERSTANDINGS, but the misunderstandings were honestly just Thorne being an @$$hole if I remember right But I liked Scarlet and Wolfe (sp?) a lot, at least in this first book; they felt more equally matched, and also more original as characters. I should read it again
That feels correct 😭 I adore Flynn and rapunzel (we ignore the “age gap” in this house, he can be 20 if I say he is) but yeaaaaah the older I get the less I like the naive girl saves the dashing rogue from his ways trope
Cinder and Kai are 100% my favorite tho lolz
Right!! Like for me it's not even the age gap either, it's his attitude and the way he acts
(I do not remember having any opinion on Cinder + Kai. Definitely need to reread)
