The stories are definitely insightful and humorous. Each chapter is a 2-3 page essay, so it should read quickly, but it doesn't. I do like learning about the historical mind-frame of Paris. But since the book is a collection of essays by a journalist I haven't heard of until I picked up this book...well, there's very little to really keep me reading.
