Intense reading. This book must have sat unread on my shelf for close to 10 years. I don't know why I left it so long - I guess just the size and the time commitment. I'm supposed to only read one book set mainly in the USA per month, and this will eat up a chunk of month - but that's okay, because it's riveting. I thought about reading it last month, but wanted Black authors for Black History Month picks.

At the rate I’m going, weekend in place, I might finish this by tomorrow night. Not sure. Monday at the latest, I think. It is compulsive reading, so I get a lot done during any one sit-down with it.

WendyB I've read the entire Penn Cage series and it's very very good. Well worth the time involved, altho I found for all that the books are doorstoppers, they read fast. Enjoy!

Two Envelopes And A Phone Yeah, I think another reason I let this sit unread - despite a friend reading The Devil's Punchbowl at the time, and loving it, and other Iles books - was that I picked Blood Memory, and was happy with it but not super-impressed. This one seems like it's gonne get me to read more by the author.
