Hey everybody!!! My little sister’s thirteenth birthday is coming up, and I want to give her thirteen books that will go with her throughout her teen years (and hopefully into adulthood)… I’ve picked out some great ones that meant so much to me, but I’m still down a few… does anyone have any recommendations? What books shaped your teen years?

Lily Pride and Prejudice, Little Women, and the Anne of Green Gables series (the entire series is incredible) are some of my favorites...also I love this birthday idea!

Emma Jo Awww love it!!! (I am getting her a hardcover Little Women!!!!) thank you! Only problem is… it’s getting expensive lol! She is WORTH IT, though!

Lily oh that's awesome!! I can totally relate books can be so expensive! that's such a sweet present though!

*・Acacia・* (3 week full hiatus) Why is this the sweetest idea ever 🥺

Abby (Reader of Clean Books) The Sisters Grimm and Ranger's Apprentice series! The Sisters Grimm might be a lower reading level, but it was one of the series that got me into reading. And Ranger's Apprentice is one of my favs (fyi it has super mild and infrequent swearing)!

Emma Jo You all are amazing!!! Taking notes hehe!

Jasmine (Jazzie) [Jesus Loves You!!] Ooo, I love this birthday gift idea!! I think the books I read the most as a younger teen were some of Jane Austen's books, Little Women (of course), and the sequels, The Hiding Place, A Gown of Spanish Lace by Janette Oke, The Bonnet and Bungles Series by Gilbert Morris, and the Elsie Dinsmore series by Martha Finley. There's probably more, too, but that's all I can think of right now.

Kaylynn (inactive-end of school year-cramming) I’m 14 rn and some of my favorites have been the Keeper of the Lost Cities series, Powerless, Shadow and Bone, Six of Crows, Lightlark, Cinder, and Renegades

ChildOfGod💜🙌🏽 (for God I live and for God I die) ~ in my Christian pop era @Emma Jo I just bought a little women hardcover (unabridged) for $11 dollars on Amazon and it’s so pretty. If u want the info just pm me! It has a preface written by a women who studies women, gender and sexuality (tho the preface is simply abt the gender roles at the time of little women and Victorian books and such) if ur fine with that 😊
