Everything is clearly explained. All chapters are well related, never letting lose ends - all converges to a good overall understanding of the workings of an OS. The text is prolific with enlightening examples both in C and in Java in systems like Solaris, Windows, Unix, etc. Short on scientific rigour, a wonderful book for engineers and an instructive first approach for computer scientists.
