Chapter 4 was great because it was interesting and spiteful. I think gene became a little jealous of funny and thought he was trying to ruin his academics at the devon school. The devon school seems very competitive but a pushing environment. This is just a roadstep as I think they will settle it and become friends again.

Gene notices that Finny lives his life according to a certain set of rules "inspiration and anarchy." Personally I think you can find a mix between being cautious and having fun
. Example is with activities like sports they are sometimes cautious but fun. It has a base of winners or losers. Something I found weird was that finny did not tell anyone that he broke the record I think he is humble for this

I just started reading the separate peace. The devon school seems fun it seems finny and gene learn something new everyday. It was funny when Gene knew that Phineas (Finny) was going to climb that tree first because of Finny's personality. The devon school kinda seem similar to my school so that was intriguing. gene became a model which was great it might bring competition.
