01/22 ~ 01/27 Intro to SPACECAT & "I Have a Dream"
An interesting word I found in my book was the Emancipation Proclamation. It was a law wrote by Abraham Lincoln where black slaves are not longer slaves and are free from the Southern life. I chose this word because it was a huge turning point in history and it probably led to the Civil War.

02/05 ~ 02/06: SSR & Annotation
I found a pathos appeal where the book goes into deep detail on how a black person was telling a white person what slavery was really like for them. It was very effective because it gave the white person an understanding of what cruelty the South has done to slaves.

02/03 ~ 02/04 Song Analysis
Questions that I have been prompted to ask:
which type of cruel technologies did the south use to toture the slaves?
Why did the South not just compromise over some type of truce?
Why was a 14 year kid being hunted, like maybe not exactly why because it kind of tells us but it is kinda messed up.
I am curious about these questions since the civil war was a very interesting time for histo.

The best part of my reading today was when the main character who was fighting in the military infiltrated the south to get information about the southern military plans. This was my favorite part because it got pretty intense when people starting noticing that the enemy were in the field and they had to use smart tactics to escape from the enemy.

There are major racism conflicts in the book, it is about how 2 african children were separated from their parents(the slaves owners did not care). It shows a pathos type conflict because it made us "feel" the horrible acts that were happening. I believe this is an important fonclit because it represents a small part of slavery cruelty and brutality.

I am most surprised about how some slaves have the urge to talk back to their slave owners.

Slavery was an important word because back than it was something that started the civil war basically.
