This book is fascinating, because he is fascinating. For those expecting a written companion to the famous bio-pic on Cohan, "Yankee Doodle Dandy" (one of my personal favs), well this is not it. The people are correct but the rest is basically Hollywood fabrication. The real facts of his life are far more interesting.
