I’m also bumping up my rating thanks to Amado’s vocal performance. He played both characters with unique accents and tones, and even side characters had their own voices. It made the dual pov narrative such a pleasure to listen to, as the character switching within a chapter was so seamless. Something you don’t get with books narrated by two different people.

<<… the spice is spicing. I liked the cameo of Book 1’s couple and how it contributed to Jeff’s growth as a person. This book was just a sweet feelgood story, with enough angst from their angry banter to spice things up.

Okay. This is the 3rd JR Gray book I’ve tried and I feel like he’s getting into his stride. While there is still a lot of repetitive language, gone are the unnecessary details that don’t add to a story. What you have left is two characters with interesting backstories that add to your understanding without taking away from the relationship between them. The side characters are well-described and amusing… >>
