STORY ARCHETYPES: In my book "the fledgling" I think this Archetype is 'the quest' because Georgie wants to fly, but everyone doubts her and tells her to stop trying. In this chapter, Georgie goes on the goose princes back at night time, and flies again. The goose prince says to slide off and fly by herself, and Georgie slides off, and she is above the pond! she is flying, and her and the Goose fly together. (90-98)

INCITING INCIDENT: In this chapter of "The Fledgling", (A new playmate for Georgie), Aunt Alex and Eleanor set up a tea party for Georgie and another neighbor named Dorothea. Since Georgie is considered strange, she must be lonely, so that's why they set them up for a play-date. It seems obvious that Dorothea doesn't like Georgie very much. I think this will impact Georgie's life by giving her a new friend in life.

VISUALIZE: In the book, Georgie woke up before the sun, and saw the "Goose Prince" outside of her window. He flies her around the city, and some people who know her saw her flying through the air. ("The Goose Prince was standing on the porch roof...'Would you like to fly around the pond?' said the Goose Prince.") (pg. 62)- what I'm visualizing is a starry night, with a big moon, around my old neighborhood.

MAKING CONNECTIONS: TEXT TO SELF: This reminds me of a time when I was walking with my dog and my Mom and we saw a few beautiful birds. (pg. 40) - TEXT TO TEXT: This book reminds me of a book I read called "The White Giraffe" cause they are both connected with animals. (pg. 37-45) - TEXT TO WORLD: This reminds me of when my friend told me about the time she went to the pond with her family and fed ducks. (pg. 40-41)

CHARACTERIZATION: Georgie feels a desire for flying, she always attempts to fly, since once she swears she has flown before. In this chapter, she is having a tea party out of nature tools, and Eleanor joins her. Though, Georgie still thinks she can fly, since one time she flew (according to her.) "I know I can. Two big jumps. Just floating. I did it before. I think I did. I can do it again." (pg. 5)
