This man is so easily led by others and influenced is crazy since he has this suspicious nature and sees treason everywhere.... but maybe that's why he's so easy to convince of other's misconduct.... This is crazy. This man's so insecure IT'S CRAZY

Seeing Henry change through the years is the best part of this book and I really like how Alison did it, because it was done so subtly and yet it is so jarring at times but never feels disjointed. All of his life's disappointments and hardships and also his victories all contribute to this change and it is so remarkable the way he feels so very human. I still roll my eyes a lot at his internal dialogue for sure lmao

Alison again doing a great job portraying this time, I feel completely engulfed by her writing and I'm being catapulted to Tudor's time like no other work I've read and I'm being so serious about how human and yet revolting at times her Henry is and how amazing that is.
