Have not really thought of how I spent my time in college until I read the first few pages of the novel. Suddenly felt a tinge of regret of how I, looking back, had wasted the opportunity to learn more.

If I did I could have been half as funny as the writer. Love it already 🥹

Now this is the Atwood I enjoy! Love her storytelling here. It's set in the 1960s but Marian's life could be any 21st Century city girl's story too.

This certainly reads like Pachinko, which I LOVED. But with more humor and definitey more relatable with the nuances it gives on Filipino family dynamics.

I can’t stop reading this. Three hours flew by and I didn’t even feel it.

Didn’t expect this to make me cry this much and I’m not even half-way through... I like how the author never lingers on any scene or chapter for so long and yet, the narrative does not read rushed or incomplete. Each character is so fleshed-out and well-thought of that every line mattered in their development in the story.

Since I've explored KDrama and KPop, I figured it's time to delve into the world of Korean literature. This title comes up a lot on recommendation lists so I hope I won't get disappointed! ❤️

So glad I'm reading this on land, safely sound at home with roof over my head. The past 50 pages were a breeze but no less heart-thumping. Didn't even feel an hour went by... Why the hell did I decide to start Part II on a Sunday evening? I wish I started reading it two hours earlier so I would have finished it by now.

FINALLY picked this up from the shelf after YEARS of keeping dust. I think this has been part of my "to-read" list since high school. I'm excited to finally cross this off my "book bucket list". So far it has been a delightful read ❤️

Sad to say I'm not enjoying this as much as I thought I would... Will probably pick this up again before the year ends.

I can already see myself weeping by the end of the book. 😢
