I just finished Beyond the Great River (People of the Longhouse Book 1) and gave it 5 stars.

Great character interaction and flows seamlessly. Not my usual genre but well done in any case.

This is one of the most depressing books I have ever read. The only reason I am going to finish reading it is because I never leave things half done if I can help it. The author paints such a dismal view of life and hope. I believe otherwise.

This book is so convoluted and depressing I have no idea why I continue to read. Maybe when I have completed the book it will have some redeeming value. Until then....

After waiting for two years for this book to come out, I am terribly disappointed. The wit, the drama, the historical narrative is so diminished it took me forever to finish. Glad it wasn't the first book. I would have never read the others.

Diana Gabaldon has created a series that will live for generations. I think when I finish this book I will start with Book 1 again. I have never done this with any book or author, but for me, her books are a timeless treasure. No pun intended! Lol

Half way through and struggling to get through it. Too much silliness and not nearly enough historical facts.

Just when I was about to give up all hope of finishing this book, it finally picks up and I am actually interested! Amazing Amy has come alive in print and the book becomes readable. Not my usual fare, but I will dutifully finish and give my final review if anyone is interested. I am just not a fan of fiction.
