On the “smart” island they decided to raze their city and start over…do they not know that history repeats itself? That’s one of the dumbest things they could’ve done

I love that we’re talking about dragons as if we can control them and yet sometimes we talk about them as if they’re pets. What’s going on

Do I remember half these characters? No. Am I baffled by the politics that have suddenly appeared in this book? Absolutely. But I think Yarros is world building ~better~ than she has been, and I think the overall writing is similar to what the first two were.

Did you like having multiple characters and alliances in Game of Thrones? Did you hate all the women that got spotlights? Did you wish there was less politics and more fighting? This is definitely the book for you. I’m having a great time though.

There’s not a single moment in this book where they make the right decision. WHY DO WE TRUST PEOPLE SO MUCH? ESPECIALLY THE PEOPLE BREAKING THE LAW???
