I’ve come to believe that everyone has some type of magic inside them. If a person can find their magic and lovingly cultivate it, they’ll truly feel alive every day.

الناس يتصرفون كما يشعرون. إن أفعالنا، نزوعنا السريع أو ترددنا، هو ما يمكن أن نعرّف به، لا عن طريق مانتفوه به من كلام، سواء كان وديا أو غير ودي.

كنا نعيش في مجتمعات قبلية صغيرة لكل فرد منها دوره وغايته، والآن صرنا مرتبطين رقميا ومنفصلين جسديا ونعاني قلة في العلاقات ذات القيمة وفقدانا مزمنا للمعنى والهدف.

ألا يجب أن يتحلى الواحد بالصبر، وأن يتعلمه من الطبيعة، من تأمل القمح وهو ينمو ببطء، من نمو الأشياء. هل يحبط المرء بإرادته تطوه الشخصي؟

وإذا نظرنا إلى الجانب الأفضل من الإنسان وتاريخه نستطيع أن نستنتج أن تاريخ "تطور" البشرية هو تاريخ محاولات الإنسان للابتعاد عن هذا الوحش الكامن في أعماقه، أو عدم السماح له بالنمو على أمل التوصل إلى التخلص منه نهائياً.

ليس الاغتصاب فعلاً جنسياً أو متعلقاً بالجنس، بل هو مرتبط بالعنف والسيطرة، فهو دوماً يتضمن العنف أو التهديد به وإلا فهو ليس اغتصاباً، وهناك العنف المطلوب للإخضاع والعنف السادي.

يريد المُضطهِد أن يقمع شيئاً محددا في المُضطَهَد هو جوهر حياته، أو أحد أهم المستلزمات لحياته، لأنه يريده نصف حي. النصف الآخر "الزائد" هو الإرادة أو الحرية والكرامة.

إن مجتمعاً يخضع للقوة ويقرر أنه بواسطتها يمكن أن يحمي وجوده هو مجتمع تطبع مع العنف. إنه يحوّل العنف إلى جزء طبيعي، لا بل إلى جزء لا يتجزأ من الواقع الاجتماعي، وأكثر من ذلك أنه يعلمه بأن القوة هي السبيل الوحيد لحل المشكلات...
