A brief history of how the detective became famous. And then he arrives at the scene to figure out what happened. Potentially a sleepwalker who has seen something. Fingerprints found. Which means the man had returned.

The bride and groom have been murdered and the investigation starts.

Danny’s funeral takes place. Mike burying the grave starts getting the feeling he’s being watched. Mark (who the Glick boys were headed to) isn’t phased by the boys death/disappearance.

Susan said I love you to Ben. Ben decides to go to the pub and ends up meeting with mears who gets very drunk. And Ben talks with the local English teacher and agrees to teaching a creative writing class

The other Glick boy dies. Ben and Susan have sex. Then they talk about the house and the history of it

One of the glick children is missing and everyone is searching for him. Ben mears is attracted and distracted by the house. What’s in the woods? Straker has demanded help.

Dinner goes well for Ben at Susan’s house

A mysterious man leaves a note for the groom. The wedding is taking place. They get married and do all the traditional rituals that you have to do at weddings in the country. One of the uncles gets blind drunk
And has to stay.

We get introduced to all the characters going to appear in the book. And then the narrator visits the house from the outside where the murder took place. We then go to 1937 when the murder took place and the 3 fingered man appears at a bar and starts asking questions.

Matt comes out to Kate as gay. Anderson tells Kate that he’s dating Matt. Kate is shocked and sad. Kate and Noah hang out at a party and Ryan tells Kate about a mark he got once on his neck .

Matt looks like he’s going to say something to Kate but doesn’t. Kate and Matt have to kiss a lot at rehearsal. Matt goes away for a few days and Kate sorts things with Anderson
