Cooper's main conflict is that he left his bag at the scene of the crime and was seen by the robbers, putting a target on his back as a suspect. There are some suspicions about whether the robbers were corrupt cops making it very hard for Cooper to decide his next course of action. If he shows himself as a witness the same cops that commit the crime may single him out and reverse the blame or challenge his honesty.

An actor who represents one of the main characters in this book would be a young Robert Capron. Capron played Rowley in the early diary of a wimpy kid movies and he would be a perfect fit for the big goofy character Gordy.

Cooper had left his backpack at the crime scene when he was in a hurry trying to escape the robbers. When he went back to school a few days later he was missing his English book. His bag and book might symbolize how he left behind Frank and moving forward an innocent part of Cooper is left behind. This event will change Cooper forever.

The kids are entering school for the day. A quote that describes the setting in the book is, "Miss Ferrand offered no explanation, and the period passed in a blur. When the bell sounded for lunch, Cooper let out a shaky breath, as if he'd been holding it since he walked into the room. He couldn't get out of there fast enough." The imagery this quote gives me reminds me of my own experiences in the classroom.

Right now the setting is at the hotdog shop. A quote from the book that describes this setting is, "BURGERS, FRIES, HOTDOGS, ITALIAN SAUSAGE & BEEF, and MONSTER SHAKES. Every window featured a different illuminated sign. Together they splashed enough colored light around the room to see clearly." These descriptions illustrate an image of a dimly lit casual bar-style restaurant in my head.

The narrator in this book seems reliable to me. The book is largely written in the third person so we hear about all the main characters in the group. However, occasionally we get direct insight into Cooper's thoughts despite the rest of the story describing him in the third person. There is a potential for Cooper's bias to leak into the overall narration but so far I have no reason to believe the narrator is evil.

Up to this point, the story is written entirely in 3rd person point of view. This means that all the characters' thoughts and actions have to be explained indirectly. Often, the characters' indirectly reveal their thoughts through conversations with one another. For example, in this chapter Cooper believes that the robbers are police officers. This is revealed when he asks his friends not to notify authorities.

Emotionally, Cooper is in a deep state of fear as he tries to escape from the armed robbers at the hotdog shop. Cooper is also injured physically likely with many scrapes and wounds as he flew off his bike trying to escape from the criminals. Psychologically, Cooper is scarred. This is definitely an event Cooper will never forget and it will likely haunt him for months, maybe even years.

The main character, Cooper is very influenced by his friends Hiro and Gordy. Gordy is a goofy kid and influences Cooper to be more childish, while Hiro is more serious and influences Cooper to act his age.

The characters seem kinda interesting so far. I can not wait to get to the plot.

We're starting to see more information about Amanda's murder. Brian was watching the news when it was revealed that the prime suspect was Amanda's father.

In this chapter Brian talks about the rival schools and the basketball state tournament

In this part of the book, Julius tries to get Brian to stop thinking about his dead girlfriend, and go out to eat with the basketball team after practice, but Brian refuses.

In this chapter, Brian was assigned a history project, and he got a partner he doesn't know.

Things are getting interesting. Somebody already died and it's weighing heavily on the main character right now.

I haven't gotten too far into the book yet but I know some basic information about the key characters so far. Right now, the book is following Amanda. She has a little brother Cory, and a boyfriend, Brian.
