8/14/20 - So far I’m “withholding judgment.” Instone-Brewer has honed in the mechanical instrument of marriage (I.e., the marriage contract) and emphasized that “covenant” is not a different concept. (So far so good.) What he has not done (nor do I expect it, though I wish he would) is address the existence of a God-ordained reality and framework of mutual expectation apart from the contract.
