Really intriguing story!

I love this book! Anne is so joyful and imaginative - a good reminder of how to live life.

So interesting! A place/time that I've never read about. The fall of Saigon April 1975. High hopes for this book!

Beautifully written! Love it but hope the ending isn't sad, especially considering it's a WWII novel. Sad enough as it is....

Wonderful! Exquisite description of an unusual world. So glad to finally start this book, after having the book and author on my TBR list for awhile.

Listening to the audiobook. It's really bad. I may have to abandon it and read s synopsis. YA dialogue at its worst. Too much cursing and silliness. I just want to know how the series ends.

Pretty sure I read this book in the 70s but thought I would re-read it just for fun!

Not sure what to make of the book yet! It's interesting & quirky. The back cover quotes that Thursday is "part Bridget Jones". What does that mean?? Here's a good example. Referring to her mother, she comments,"it had been of considerable anguish to her that I wasn't spending more time with swollen ankles, hemorrhoids, and a bad back, popping out grandchildren and naming them after obscure relatives."

Very different from any other book I've read but I really like it! So much detail & emotion. Found a line that sums up my feeling about modern art. "...the paintings were so hollow, that you had to say they were pictures of everything because they were pictures of nothing..."

I'm really excited and surprised to have found this new book by one of my favorite childhood authors! Just published last month, years after the author's death, it is a collection of her best short stories over her entire career.
