"They weren't so wonderful with me," groaned a voice behind them.

The Doctor, Warren and Mae turned to find Clara heading their way.

"There you are!" cried the Doctor, sweeping her into his arms. "You're up and about, then?"

"You try sleeping with that racket going on," Clara whined.

"What are you doing?" she cried, pushing his hands away.

The Doctor looked confused for a moment. "I was saving you."

"You went inside my mind?"

"Yes. To save you."

"You went inside my mind without my permission?"

"Again, you seem to be missing the 'I saved you' part."

"Don't ever do that again!"

"What? Save you?"

"No. Go in there without my permission."

The Doctor nervously fiddled with his bow tie. "Ok."

"So?" said Clara. "What's the answer? Will we be able to breath?" "Almost certainly," replied the Doctor. "Make that probably. A strong probably." "How can you possibly know?" "Away from the mental tentacle thing, the Shroud have a basic humanoid biology," the Doctor explained. "That means they'll need the same sort of atmosphere as we do." "You're guessing, aren't you?" "Have been since we got here," said the Doctor

"How do you do that?" asked Clara. "How do you get changed so quickly?"

"Wibbly-wobbly wardrobe," said the Doctor with a sniff. "Now, this wall leads directly into the wormhole. Well, the whole planet does in fact. But this is where we'll be going in. Any questions?"

Warren raised his hand. "Yes, actually," he said. "What in God's name are you talking about?"

"This wasn't the first time the state government had ignored his advice, either. There was that sorry buisness last year when the Soviets had stationed missiles in Cuba and threatened to launch them at the USA. Just thinking about it made the General's blood boil and he was forced to grip the edge of the operating table to control his rage."

"Oh, this is ridiculous!" groaned the Doctor, aiming his sonic at the weapon and dissolving it into atoms. "I can't follow you through every single one of your memories and make you forget every gun you've ever seen. You're American!"
