Andrew is on page 129 of 496 of The Pyramid: The Kurt Wallander Stories
First story 'introduces' Wallander...& it would have been useful at the start of the saga! But a cracking tale well told! I must read more!!!

Not all black and white then...seriously distorted Republican views seem to have been accepted as truth...the symbol of every Irish 'hero' is a gun aimed at an Irish copper!

An entertaining if cliched story of Titanic survivors & tiresomely self-righteous suffragists! It takes more than broken windows & torched post-boxes to gain the vote, doesn't it?

This is very good crime-writing; finally, Leon has found an edge to her view of Venice in the 21st century...& it's sharp!

The title story relates the finer detail to the lurid cover of this paperback - one of Lawrence's daubs of fleshy excesses!, which drew a blushing grin from the 'faded rosebud' assistant of the species in the charity shop...for 20p it was a priceless moment of Lawrencesque eroticism, as she chided me gently.."A-hem!!..." I told her that Lawrence had lived not 100 yards from where we stood..when he taught in Croydon.

The wheat and the chaff of Joyce's TPOTAAAYM...no, that's not from Finnegans Wake!...but a quick solution to a long title! Some great writing here but so much verbiage that the green fields of Ireland are a pale shadow on the wall of a Dublin urinal! ???
