I read this numerous times in high school and college but want to see how this hits when I am an adult. I do remember that Frodo gave solid middle-aged vibes when I was in high school and "older than me" vibe despite many people insisting that hobbits at 33 are the equivalent of human adults at 18 or 21. I've never believed that to be the case.

It's weird that the protagonist acts all dismayed when they are both only in their mid-20s and it has actually been increasingly common for people in their 20s and older to still live with their parents since the effects of 1980s and 1990s changes to economics took hold and screwed over everyone younger than Gen X. The people least likely to live with their parents are the richest and poorest (Section 8) in society

Immediate impression: WELP, there are some changes from Greco-Roman mythology that are glaring to me as a former Ancient Greek/Latin student
