I'm digging the world building on so many levels!

All the war history = a big yes from me!

This book isn't what I thought it would be, but I like it!

"The peculiarity for which they'd been hunted was simply their Jewishness. They were orphans of war, washed up on that little island in a tide of blood. What made them amazing wasn't that they had miraculous powers; that they had escaped the ghettos and gas chambers was miracle enough."

"She asked you to be her bridesmaid?" Jasper said, as we walked down the corridors from the sixth-form common room towards the textiles classroom. "Maybe I'm missing something here, but isn't that a good thing? You know, one of those moments all little girls dream about, along with getting their first pony and turning into a fairy?"

"I don't know what sort of big reveal they'd been expecting, but it obviously wasn't that. Lottie blinked several times, really fast. Yasmin's eyes just got really really big. And Jasper's elbow slipped off the counter so he nearly brained himself on the edge of the Formica. Almost like watching a cartoon, but more depressing because these were my actual friends."

The world building seems great so far.

This is brilliant already. I adore the works building and I know it's only going to get better. I'm hoping things turn out the way I want them to, but we shall see...

I don't want it to be over...
