Fascinating subject. The contrast between the rich and the peasants is incredible yet the people revered the Tsar and the Tsar appeared to have no insight into his people's condition. A lot of book is based on correspondence of main characters and leaves no doubt that all the Royal family were eventually executed.

I was born at home in North London in 1950.It was nowhere near as badly bombed as the East end but definitely had a community spirit. My reading has been very much enhanced by the excellent BBC series basd on this book

Still have not worked out the significance of the title.

Started on 2nd Nov. Keeping my interest but again not sure if I would have read this unless got free on Kindle

Started Nov 1st and not having any trouble reading this the last volume in trilogy about Arthur.
