Some stories in this volume I wouldn't consider fantasy--not even in the liminal mode. Melville's "Tartarus of Maids" is an example. O'Brien's "The Diamond Lens" is "sort of" fantasy, given the role of the medium, but the thrust of it really is science fiction, as the existence of the lens extrapolates that what occurs is possible according to the laws of science.
