We may feel as though we're doing nothing more than treading water at times, but it's with each breath and every stroke that we reach our fingers closer to that elusive spot just over the horizon. Your body and spirit are buoyant. Swim.

Ms. Giffin is doing one humdinger of a job in pulling me into the emotional fold of this story. This should be taken as a compliment, because I know every story needs a *villain*, but I find myself gasping with incredulous repulsion at some of the comments one particular character makes. This is the beginning of a very complex, real, and tangled web of a story. Compelling and immersive so far!

Love is a verb, encompassing so much more than the familiar romanticized notions. It is about accepting each other as we are, valuing differences, and embracing true connection. Whether as a spouse, partner, sibling, parent, child, or most importantly, self, love without barriers. Love unconditionally.
