I'm not liking it. I wasn't expecting caricature/comic book villains that are evil because they want to be the "evilest" thing out there. I thought this series was for an adult audience.
I'll finish it, but not soon.

It's YA. It's light and fluffy, like easy-listening music, but it also is Joanne Harris, so it is very well written and it's absorbing. The perfect relaxing reading between bouts of Dostoyevski's "The Idiot".

This takes a lot of pages to get to the good part.

The first three parts are a little bit on the slow side, and are about a father doting on his baby... I suppose they are meant to be cringy, but still...

I don't think I'm going to finish this thing... The protagonist is too whiny. And here comes the romance part....

A good beginning. Really a heroic fantasy.

Much easier reading after chapter 1 - Losing track of time.
