Yesterday was beautiful: a surreal and VERY short story about the war in Greece. It has a nice circular quality to its narrative. 3/5

Katina: one of the longer stories on here, a story about the struggle of the Greek people and RAF members in Greece during the war, and an almost mythological figure of a little girl that appears to be the embodiment of hope and resistance. The story seems like it captures the feel of what it must have been to have been there, and touched me. 4/5

Madame Rosette: nothing too special or exciting about this story, other than it takes place in Cairo. Some light stereotyping of Egyptians here, but nothing offensive. 2/5

A piece of cake: a pilot doesn't have the best of times. It's a rollercoaster ride, and kept me guessing till the end. With some witty sentences and bonus mentions of Marsa Matruh and Alexandria. 3/5
