This book has definitely exceeded my (low) expectations. The characters actually communicate, Noah at least has a good support network, Kestra is given time and space to heal, and the character descriptions are backed up by action and speech. Plus there’s world building and the plot makes sense. This is definitely more than a romance book.

This book is giving me mathematically interesting stories I want to read and now a solitaire card game I want to try.

What she’s explaining sounds so cool, but it’s so hard to understand. My mental math brain is not so good. Still cool.

1% in and Sarah Hart brought up how because humans are part of a universe made up of patters, it makes sense that our creative endeavors fall into patterns. I never thought that stories might repeat over and over because of math! How neat.

Well there are sex scenes, but because (in the one I read) the adjectives already started at peak intensity the writing couldn’t give a sense of increasing tension in a way I found to be believable. Unattainable sex goals, probably because both characters are magical. Remarkably vanilla sex for a demon.

What kind of nickname is “Legna”? Sounds like a deez nuts joke.

I know that Noah’s a demon but for some reason I thought he dressed like Clark Kent. Nope. He wears billowy shirts and has a pony tail, which I feel like I should have seen coming??

Also he’s introduced as being level headed and good with kids and then it’s like aha isn’t it sexy if he looses control and becomes animalistic — not really.

Found this in a lending library and currently annotating it. I feel like I can figure out the world pretty well even without the first four books.

The gay character has a boyfriend, which is nice. The main character’s love interest is flat as hell — no character in that guy. Also there are no sex scenes, it just fades to black. Sad.

I feel like all the characters are stereotypes which makes me mad.

The name is sus as hell, but it’s pretty much just Ghost Town the movie from what I can tell.
More diverse (but probably stereotypical) characters than other romance books I’ve read. There’s a gay best friend! The main character has short brown hair!
