Interesting so far! I like that Theodore Roosevelt is a main character.

Started this last night-- excited for another great (no doubt) read from one of my favorite authors.

Wasn't sure about this one at first-- the writing style felt contrived, overdone. But the story has pulled me in now-- very entertaining.

I'm not wild about the writing style..... we'll see....

I am just thrilled to pieces to be reading the second book in this series-- as expected, it's wonderful!

As expected, this is great so far-- colorful yet believable characters, grit, humor... Feels real. I am officially a part of the Lansdale fan club.

Ok, after a break I'm back to this gem -- my husband needed something to read so I generously let him have this book even though I'd already started it-- he loved it, by the way ;)

Stayed up an extra hot last night because I had to know "who dunnit"-- couldn't put this book down!

Can't put it down-- what a great mystery and portrait of turn-of-the-century New York City.

So far very entertaining

Did I mention that I already love this? "Ray Bradbury was a nostalgic visionary: He predicted the past and remembered the future" (3). YES.

Ok I'm literally only 2 pages in and I'm already hooked... Love Bradbury and love Weller's love of Bradbury-- I can tell we are literary kindred spirits.

This is so good! I can't put it down! It's like To Kill a Mockingbird meets Huckleberry Finn-- dark and mysterious with these great, eccentric characters and amazing friendships. The writing is perfect-- and like I said before, masterful colloquial dialogue.

This is great so far-- I love the language and the characters-- they are so real but at the same time so unusual. Lansdale has really mastered the art of writing dialogue.

Really enjoying this so far-- as expected. Addiction is something which interests me very much, having affected several of my friends and family members. This story feels very real. Sad about the kitty :,(

So far a good, solid dystopian young adult novel... Which I love!

Well, I've already cried... I'm such a sap!

I like this-- as a Sherlock fan it's fun to get to know his brother for a change.

And the fire thing!! Motif carries right through both books.

've reached the point where Lily's daughter, Rosemary, is a little girl and it is SO relevant to the portrait of her painted by Walls in The Glass Castle. It's so clear how Rosemary became the adult she did, because of and in spite of Lily's parenting. So interesting! I'm really glad I read the books in the order I did even though it wasn't chronological because I don't think I would've noticed all this otherwise.

Liking this-- it reads a lot like The Glass Castle, which I was hoping it would!

Holy smokes! What a scene-- if taken as a continuation of TKAM it sure casts a different light on Tom's trial! I think I need to read this book a few times to really get it and decide on a solid opinion...
